Average literate population rate of Turkey is 80.5%, and this rate is increased to 93% in Eskisehir. This rate is distributed for Eskisehir as 97% male, and 89% female literate population. Graduation rate, education level and education quality of Eskisehir people is higher than national average rates. Education is an important concept for all individuals in Eskisehir. Consequently, two separate primary schools, one occupational education center, and 26 special sub classes in normal primary schools were established for handicapped person. In Eskisehir utilization of primary schools rate is 100% and there is no village without a primary school in province wide.

Anadolu University Yunus Emre Campus

University education was started in 1958, and today it’s keep on going with two universities named Anadolu and Osmangazi. There are 19 Faculties, 9 Colleges, 6 Vocational Colleges, 9 Institutes, and 16 Research Centers in these two universities, and there are also 2488 academicians worked for these universities. Anadolu University is the top ten big universities in the world, with over one million registered students to Open Education Faculty. Osmangazi University is the second university of Eskisehir, and there are approximately 15.000 students registered. On the other hand, with the Education and Practice Hospital of Medical Faculty of Osmangazi University, Eskisehir is the health center of the region.
